Painted on location from my olive grove in Chianni, Tuscany, this small oil study captures the warmth, light and atmosphere of an afternoon spent painting outdoors.
Painted 4-6pm 
Looking through the olive trees towards the rolling countryside beyond, the painting focuses on the interplay of silvery foliage, sunlit fields and distant blue hills. Loose brushwork and visible marks preserve the immediacy of the experience and reflect the constantly changing light of the Tuscan landscape.
