Lunch in the Olive Grove
Painted en plein air in my olive grove in Chianni, Tuscany.
I headed to the grove a little earlier than usual to paint lunch itself. Fresh bread, pecorino and tomatoes, basil in our own olive oil set against the rolling Tuscan landscape. There were a couple of brief rain showers during the session, but the day remained warm with a cool breeze moving through the trees.
Painted on location between 12.30pm and 2.30pm, this small oil study captures a simple pause in the day and the quiet pleasure of painting outdoors.
