A more personal interior painting exploring light, atmosphere and the relationship between interior space and the landscape beyond.
 
Painted in loose layers of oil paint with softened edges and suggested detail, the piece combines figure, reflection and shifting light to create a sense of stillness without becoming overly descriptive.
 
Rather than focusing on a literal portrait, the seated figure becomes part of the atmosphere of the room itself  suspended between inside and outside, memory and place.
