The Luxury of Time

Painted in Tuscany and inspired by long, unhurried lunches beneath the olive trees.
A table is laid with simple food, two glasses of wine and the Tuscan landscape stretching away beyond. For me, this painting became about something more than the scene itself. It is about the luxury of having time time to sit, to talk, to notice the light and the landscape, and to simply be where you are.
As my work has evolved, I have become increasingly interested in the connection between creativity and wellbeing, and in how painting encourages us to slow down and really look. The Luxury of Time captures that feeling of having nowhere else you need to be and nothing else you need to do.
Sometimes the greatest luxury is simply having the afternoon ahead of you.
